Yanmar will introduce its new
electrification strategy, based on presenting its capabilities as system
integrator. The company will offer system engineering, design and manufacturing
of e-powertrains, while also providing control development, system evaluation,
procurement, manufacturing and quality assurance.
This
important development for the over-110-years-old engine manufacturer will be
exemplified by an electrified demonstration excavator on the booth. It will be
powered by an electric drive and 48-volt batteries with fast charging
capability. Yanmar recently acquired ELEO, a developer and manufacturer of
high-performance modular battery systems. ELEO is building a new battery
production plant, increasing its annual battery production capacity tenfold to
500 MWh – equivalent of approximately 10,000 battery packs.
Yanmar said it
is active also in several other new-energy projects in various business lines,
including hydrogen-powered cogeneration, research into hydrogen fuel marine
engines, bio-gas cogeneration, dual-fuel power solutions with natural gas, fuel
cell marine technology, smart agriculture, and resource recycling technologies.
