XCMG Pipe Jacking Machine Brings Clean Drinking Water to People in East Africa

XCMG XDN400H, the full hydraulic pipe jacking equipment of minimum diameter in China, went abroad to support East Africa and Tanzania, helping local residents get clean and safe drinking water.

 

The construction site, Dar es Salaam, is located in the east of the Indian Ocean coast of Tanzania, with a humid and hot climate, abundant rainfall and surface water. After the completion of the project, 85% of the rural population and 95% of the urban residents will have access to clean and safe drinking water.

 

The construction couldn’t be pushed forward at the beginning due to the complex geological conditions. The project department investigated the products in local market, and learned that XCMG has a small-diameter pipe jacking machine, and there are many successful cases, therefore the department decided to make the purchase.

 

The construction site includes 500m of road, which cannot be dig. The underground layers include fine sand, coarse sand, silt, laterite, clay, hard clay, weathered rock, backfill layer and other strata, which puts forward extremely high requirements for the overall performance of the pipe jacking machine equipment.
