XCMG Electric Heavy Trucks on ‘Roof of the World’

‘Yalin section’, with a main line length of 1011km, of which 95% are bridges and tunnels, is the toughest part in the railway project.  The plateau along the line is extremely cold and rugged, and the ecology is fragile. It is the most challenging environment to test equipment reliability.

In order to finish the ‘most difficult mission’, XCMG's technical team carried out multiple rounds of operation research, made adaptive improvements to the overall layout of vehicles and system performance parameters, and repeatedly carried out reliability verification in extreme environments.

The high ratio of bridges and tunnels brought huge construction workload, and the battery-charging time has become the biggest pain point restricting the efficiency. XCMG's electric muck truck and mixer truck have reduced the charging time to 1-1.5 hours to meet the attendance requirement.

XCMG is the only heavy truck brand chosen by project department for the construction work 4500m above sea level. With the development of the project, XCMG's electric muck truck has entered the high-intensity construction stage.

XCMG's electric muck truck takes 1.5 hours to be fully charged, and is equipped with a battery heating system, which meets the operation requirements in extremely cold environment.It is also equipped with the industry's most advanced decoupling braking energy recovery and multi gear sliding energy recovery technology to further strengthen the endurance capability. New structure and new material containers are adopted, which offers better wear-resistant and impact resistant. The hydraulic lifting system is stable and fast, and is suitable for high-frequency slag transportation.

XCMG's hybrid electric concrete mixer delivered at the same time is customized for constructions on plateau. It adopts the high-energy density lithium iron phosphate battery, carries a high-power motor and boasts strong climbing ability. The ‘chassis mounting integration’ improves the adaptability and reliability of the product, presenting a performance experience far beyond that of products of the same level.
