A Power from the East! XCMG Excavators Help the Cooperation between China and Cambodia

“Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway”is an important achievement of high-quality cooperation between China and Cambodia.

With total investment exceeding USD 2 billion,this project,once completed,will greatly shorten the distance from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville,effectively lowering the logistics cost and driving the economic and social development along the line.

A year ago,XCMG,with its complete construction machinery solutions and all-round guarantee for overseas services,fully supported and cooperated with China Road&Bridge Corporation(CRBC)in the construction of Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway.XCMG’s excavator has become the first equipment put in this construction.

The terrain along the expressway project is complex,with plains in the middle and south,and most areas in the east,north and west are covered by forests.Affected by the landform and monsoon,rainfall in the project area varies greatly.

It is a huge challenge to build a 190-km-long expressway on such a mountainous terrain.Working in such harsh conditions and high intensity,the equipment shall be extremely flexible with high-quality engine circulation and power systems.

Through screening and verification during construction,the contractor is very satisfied with XCMG’s XE215C hydraulic excavator.

Directing at the construction environment in Cambodia,XCMG XE215C excavator is provided with a modified positive-pressure degassing expansion tank,which is able to eliminate wet gas in the engine and waterway as fast as possible,so as to reduce rusting,improve the service life of pumps and ensure equipment attendance and engineering progress.Meanwhile,the excavator is equipped with an originally imported 128.5kw engine,which is powerful and fuel-efficient,and a new main pump,which is 7%more efficient than the previous generation.

Since the commencement of the expressway project,XCMG excavators,with their excellent quality,stable performance and super-high working efficiency,have ensured the smooth progress of the project under high-intensity and high-load operating environment,and thus they are fully recognized by the contractor.XCMG XE215C has become the main force of excavation and transportation for the construction of Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway.

To ensure smooth development of the project,XCMG arranged its overseas engineers to the construction site to guide the installation and commissioning after the equipment arrived at the site.

When the commissioning and acceptance and handover training were completed,these engineers also provided professional training for operators of the contractor in the aspect of maintenance and operation of excavators.

To meet the needs of spare parts during the construction,XCMG provided wearing parts for the first batch of equipment delivered that are available for a year.In the subsequent advancement of the project,XCMG will continue to improve the spare response mechanism and timely dispatch and replenish spare parts according to the actual use to ensure normal operation of equipment during the project implementation.

As the first expressway in Cambodia,the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway that XCMG helps the construction is of great significance to the country’s livelihood,transportation and economic development.This expressway enables Cambodian to realize development,and also promotes the friendship and cooperation between China and Cambodia.
